As founder and lead financial advisor of Gaughan Capital Management (GCM), Marty provides clients with comprehensive financial guidance, specializing in the areas of retirement planning and asset management. He started GCM with the goal of offering a local, independent alternative to large Wall Street brokerage firms. Marty's commitment to the highest fiduciary standards has positioned GCM as a leader in providing nonbiased financial planning and investment services to individuals and small business owners throughout the Chicagoland area.
Marty has more than 15 years' experience in the financial services industry and has been awarded credentials as both a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®). Marty earned a BS in finance/economics from Regis University and an MBA from the Kellstadt School of Business at DePaul University.

Marty is also a 2013 and 2014 recipient of the Five Star Professional award*, which represents less than 3% of the Wealth Managers in the Chicago area.
Additionally, Marty is insurance licensed in a number of states and holds a Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC) designation. He is also a licensed real estate broker with more than 20 years' experience in the investment real estate market. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Financial Services Institute, and the Chicago Association of Life Underwriters. Since Marty affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network in 1998, Commonwealth has grown to become the largest privately held independent broker/dealer in the country.
Marty is active in the community and supports numerous charities including the Chicago Fire Department Widow's and Children's Fund and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He grew up in Chicago and currently lives in Glenview with his wife, Mary, and their three children, Audrey, Megan and Danny.

April joined Gaughan Capital Management as the executive assistant in June 2016. April provides administrative support for all aspects of GCM's business, from processing client paperwork to ensuring that our clients' requests are carried out promptly and efficiently.
April earned a BA from Lewis University and currently lives in Chicago with her husband, Nick, and their son, Nicholas. In her free time, she enjoys running and spending time with her family and friends.
